The Summer 2026 ADNP EUROPE NEWSLETTER

7/4/20263 min read

Dear community members,

We are excited to share our latest news with you and would like to take this opportunity to wish you already an excellent summer break. Lots of progress have been achieved lately and we are keen to resume working together at the end of August after a well deserved summer break.

The schedule is packed aleady and we are looking for achieving more milestones together shortly!

Enjoy the reading 😊

  1. Update on Membership Campaign – Share the word and become a member today!

After a month of campaign, we managed to register around 100 members worldwide, representing around 70 ADNP patients and kids. If this is satisfactory to see such numbers, we should all try to significantly increase this number over the summer so we can get to the Scientific Conference in September with a high representation of the ADNP Community and work together towards progress in research. Every ADNP patient represented by ADNP EUROPE increases our chances to secure funding for research projects and bring our voice to the world.

Please spread the word and lobby within your countries to attract more families 😊

  1. Third ADNP Conference in September – Looking forward seeing you there !

As you already have heard the third ADNP Conference will be held in Antwerp between 9-11 September 2026. While our Scientific Committee is working hard on securing a qualitative and inspiring agenda for the first two days, there will be as usual a family day on the third day. We are currently working on the the agenda. If you have ideas of topics to discuss, please share them accordingly!

Please note that a reception will also be held by ADNP Europe on this occasion to enable all present families and scientists to exchange and network. All details will be shared in due time, for now you can already have a look here: www.uantwerpen.be/adnp-conference

  1. Ongoing Fund-Raising Efforts – Please support

Our Board Member Roberto Trip is currently raising funds for ADNP Europe: Please have a look Here.

Daniela Schönfelder and Angela Dawn are also securing some funds in support of the ADNP Conference in Antwerp. All details are available on our FB page and Here

Many thanks to them for their efforts 😊

  1. Update on our 2026 Action Plan – Getting ready to launch request to fund research

We are progressing also on our action plan 2026 with the first milestones achieved namely the administrative and financial finalization of ADNP Europe, the establishment of a scientific Committee, a first membership campaign, and of course the preparation of the ADNP Conference in September. After September our focus will shift towards preparing a large funding request for research on ADNP. We already identified several public funding opportunities, and the conference will help us to define the best topic research to investigate. A specific meeting will be held together with the Board and the scientific Committee to discuss further and prepare for this important step.

The Scientific Committee also shared recent exciting research updates on ADNP. We are currently working on consolidating these and refreshing as well our scientific content on the website accordingly. Stay tuned (and a bit patient... :-)

  1. ADNP EUROPE is now member of Rare diseases Organization Belgium (Radiorg.be) – A first valuable partnership, more to come!

As representative of ADNP patients and advocate for ADNP, we are happy to share with you that we established our first partnership being now a member of the Belgian Rare disease network. This opportunity gives us access to multiple sister organizations working in the field of rare disease, some being very similar to ADNP, exchange valuable information on ongoing research and treatments, and put ADNP EUROPE on the map.

We are currently exploring other similar opportunities.

Last, the association is currently operating on a best effort basis, and we are not always able to reply timely to all messages and questions we receive. Please do not worry if you don’t get a timely reply, we are working on it. Also, please do not hesitate to contact us if you want to actively contribute to help in our daily operations, we have multiple tasks to delegate :)

We wish you all a wonderful summer break and are looking forward seeing you in September.
